The universe

7,800+

Florida owner-led firm plans in public filings (dental, medical, legal, accounting, specialized trades). Most were never designed.

The 401(k) case

$43–54k

average employer money flowing through undesigned plans each year ($43k in dental, $54k in physician practices).

The pension case

~90%

of dental practices have no pension layer, and the pattern repeats across the medical, legal, accounting, and trade filings we screen.

The Fix

Fix your plan

Your plan keeps refunding your contributions? That's a design failure. It's fixable, and for plans established in 2024 or later, federal startup credits can offset some or all of the cost, depending on headcount.

The Design

The designed 401(k)

Safe-harbor and cross-tested design that puts up to $72,000 a year toward each owner (the 2026 limit), with the practice's share decided after year-end.

The Harvest

Cash balance for practice owners

A cash-balance plan is the second bucket. At late-fifties ages, it can often add more than $200,000 per owner per year on top of a 401(k), depending on age and pay.

Process

How we work.

  1. D0

    Read your filing

    We start from your plan's public Form 5500 record, before we've taken a minute of your time.

  2. D+10

    20-minute call, your CPA invited

    Twenty minutes settles whether the numbers are worth pursuing. Bring your CPA; we prefer it.

  3. Same week

    Send any payroll export

    Any format your payroll system produces. We take it from there.

  4. 48H

    Design study in 48 hours

    A written study with the worked numbers for your practice, 48 hours after your census lands.

  5. Annual

    We run every deadline, forever

    We handle testing, filings, notices, and amendments on time, every year, for a flat fee.

What you can count on

The guardrails, stated plainly.

Reviewed

Every design is checked by a credentialed QPA before it ships. Cash-balance certifications are signed by an enrolled actuary.

Never your assets

We never hold or touch plan money. Custodians and recordkeepers do that. We do design, testing, and filings.

One flat fee

Priced per year, not per dollar. No asset charges, no revenue sharing, no commission from anyone's fund.

Sourced numbers

Every figure we quote about your plan cites the filing it came from. Public record, checkable by you.

Who this isn't for.

These designs don't suit every practice, and we would rather say so on the first call than sell you a plan that disappoints in year two. You are probably not a fit if:

  • the practice's taxable income is modest, or owner compensation is low;
  • the owners are young relative to the staff, since the age gap is what pays for the design;
  • cash flow can't support a multi-year funding commitment (cash balance only);
  • your plan is already well designed (some are, and we will tell you so);
  • you don't actually want to put more away this year.

If the numbers don't work, we'll tell you.

Before you book

Questions owners ask first.

What does the plan review cost?

Nothing, and it ends with a straight answer, which is either a number or a “this doesn't work for you.” Bring your CPA; we prefer it.

Do we have to move the plan's investments?

No. We never hold or touch plan assets; custodians and recordkeepers do. We do the design, the testing, and the filings.

What do you charge?

Flat fees by product: $2,500–3,500/yr for 401(k) work, $7,500–9,500/yr for cash balance, the actuary's certification included. No asset charges. No revenue sharing. A design study, when the numbers warrant one, is a $2,000 flat fee.

We're not sure our plan is broken.

Send us nothing but your plan name. We'll read the public filing and tell you what it says, including if it says you're fine.

We already have a 401(k) provider.

Keep them for the call. We read your plan's public filing and tell you what it says. If a redesign makes sense, we take over the design and administration; whether your recordkeeper stays depends on how the current plan is bundled, and we'll tell you that on the call too.

Twenty minutes with your CPA on the line settles it.

No fee for the call. No obligation. If the numbers don't work, we'll tell you.
