A design firm that happens to do administration.
Opus Plans is a third-party administrator (TPA) for small-business retirement plans, based in St. Petersburg, Florida, delivering remotely across the state. We design and run 401(k) and cash-balance plans for owner-led firms — dental and medical practices, law firms, accounting firms, veterinary clinics, and specialized trade businesses such as HVAC. The design decides what a plan can do; the administration keeps it exactly on the rails, every year. Most firms sell the second without ever doing the first.
The method is unglamorous and repeatable. We read public filings before we take a minute of your time. We do the mathematics on your actual census, not a template. And we treat deadlines as the product — tests, notices, amendments, and government filings, on time, every year. What you buy from us is the absence of problems.
Every design is reviewed by our senior consulting advisor, [ADVISOR NAME, QPA] — [ONE-LINE BIO].
Cash-balance certifications are signed by our consulting enrolled actuary.
The people.
Head of Clients
Avinash Nandakumar
Built and exited a sovereign-advisory firm; builds process businesses. Married to a physician who looked into setting up her own practice, he knows the payroll-for-retirement question from the owner's side of the table — and he's the one on your call who gives you a number, or a no.
Head of Policy & Compliance
Magdalena Dziurzyńska
Certified statutory auditor and ACCA member; ran finance for an international airline group and a games studio, and co-founded a marketplace of her own. She writes the policies and controls behind every Opus plan — built so an auditor would sign them, because she is one.
Head of Operations
Alex Baldwin
Compliance across five jurisdictions; institutional onboarding at Morgan Stanley; procurement at the UK Ministry of Defence. Builds the half of the firm clients never see — the systems, legal plumbing, and tooling that file on time, every time, with every number traceable.
